I cannot wait to write a review for this technician–Troy. Acutally he just left about two minutes ago. He came to my house on time. Troy is super friendly and honest. He educated me about our existing AC unit, showed me up the attic, and answered all my questions professionally. He even pointed out that my AC filter need to be changed. Shame to say that we didnot know where the filter was since we moved to our house a year ago. The filter is very dirty. I am very pleased by what he have done for us. He is very knowlegable about the AC products, telling me all the options that I may have and suggested me the best one. I definately will call Troy and his company –Texas AC specialist, to do my work from now on.

I had a broken AC water pipe in my attic leaking water through the ceiling in multiple places. TX AC Specialists were very responsive even on a Sunday! Saul was at my house as scheduled, on a Sunday. He was very friendly and knowledgable and had the piping replaced with no-time for a fair price. I would definitely recommend this company!

Talk about honesty. I was seeking a general check over, and an estimate for replacement, at a property I was considering purchasing. What a relief to learn the system did not need immediate replacing. Such integrity these days is rare. In addition, he showed up on time, was professional and polite. I will only call Texas Air Conditioning Specialists from now on.

I just had a estimate for ac/heating units to be replace. Thomas arrived at my house on time and gave a honest and thorough estimate what it would cost. I didn’t select Texas Air only because I decided to buy a different unit. All In all Thomas and Texas Air were prompt and courteous.

Awesome service!

Our technician, Saul, was right on time and diagnosed the problem instantly.
It was a minor problem with an easy fix. Result… no charge!

He even stayed a bit longer to check a few other things to make sure that was it.
I will definitely use these guys again. Their no service/trip charge baited me and their excellent service hooked me.

My furnace would not come on at all in the morning.  It was a chilly morning outside, and the house was very cool.  TX AC Specialists had a guy out here around 11:30. He figured out it was not the furnace after all, but just the thermostat.  He had a new thermostat installed and the heat running again by 2:15. I was pleased overall with the service.  The technician was very polite, friendly, and professional, and did a good job of explaining how to program the new thermostat.  I would definitely call this company again.

Great service. Prompt, courteous, helpful. Advised against the dangers of our 1955 wall furnace and offered a great deal on an HVAC system and lots of good advice.  And no charge, as the repair tech was able to start the furnace again without a real repair.  They are on my A list!!!

These guys rock.  One of their technicians just left our house.  He was here 20 minutes after I first called their office, was super friendly, greeted us and our dogs with a smile and got right to the problem at hand.  It’s the day after Christmas, the temperature dropped yesterday and we couldn’t get our heat to come on.  The thermostat worked and told us that it was 61 degrees in our house.  That’s a bit chilly.  I was very worried that it would be a super huge problem and a super huge bill.
It turns out that our heater was fine but we had turned off the master switch when we were moving things around in our attic.  Yes, we are Le Dumb and didn’t realize that the switch controlled the heater!  He flipped it on, checked everything out, waited for the heat to come on and be warm (just in case) and didn’t charge us at all.  I was impressed with his integrity, attitude and sense of humor.
It would have been very easy for him to be dishonest or charge us for the waste of his time but he didn’t.  He also didn’t make us feel dumb for… well, being dumb :)

I know it isn’t cold.  But I was chilly this morning, and JUST WANTED TO CHECK if the heater was working in case it gets cold for serious in the next few days.

Heater not working.

Called Texas Air Conditioning Specialist for the second time, since they were so awesome when we had to call last winter for the same old creaky gas heater.  Brent answered the phone, was very polite, and gave me a time frame for someone to come by between 1-3 pm.
Thomas came by between 1-3 pm!  He let my dog and cat greet him in the enthusiastic manner that they are both keen on, fixed the heater in about 5 minutes, and reasonable isn’t even descriptive enough to tell you about the cost.
When this heater croaks (PLEASE just live until I graduate, heater), we will certainly be calling these guys to help us out.

TX AC Specialist did an excellent job replacing our AC system. Their price on a Trane 18 seer high efficient HVAC system beat two competitors. Brian was able to work me into their schedule at the last minute, which was a great relief for me and my family. They exceeded my expectations and I will definitely use them again when I need to replace my second AC system. None of the installers left until the system was completely up and running.

We had multiple problems with some local HVAC repair companies and needed our unit repaired fast since it had been several days and most companies would not come out or return our calls.  I contacted Brian at Texas Air Conditioning Specialist and had someone out there that day and put in a new outside unit and a coil inside.  He also arranged all of the financing and everything was done in just hours.  Plus the price was $800 to $1000 less than everyone else.  It was a blessing.

They were prompt and didn’t charge a fee for just showing up. They fixed they problem at a very fair price. Instead of trying to sell us a new unit they suggested the fix we chose saying we should get a few more years out of our 10 yr old unit. It has been a year since they repaired our system and it is still working great.

They were quick to respond and were professional.

Thursday:  My A/C went out, with just a couple months left before cooler weather sets in.  I came home to find my dog panting, with an exasperated look on his face.

Friday:  These guys (and gals) were able to be on my property within three hours of me placing a call for help.  Nobody wants to hear that their compressor has gone tits-up, but it helps to have someone who checks, double checks, and triple checks the “lesser evils,” before delivering the news.  (It also helps that the death was a slow death, and I had a chance to check various providers’ opinions over the course of the last few years).

Saturday:  A new system (inside and outside) showed up with two guys who obviously knew what they were doing, and cleaned up their mess when they were done.  Not even one wrapper or screw was left behind.  The guy doing the outside work didn’t miss a beat, in spite of a thunderstorm coming through (the first rain in over a month).  By 7 p.m. the house was back to 78 degrees, and the dog was breathing normally again.

Wednesday:  (My first free day since the install)  A tech paid me a visit after I made a call to say the inside air handler was awfully noisy.  The “noisy” was  normalized within 10 minutes of him driving into my driveway.  There was no charge for the follow-up, which was completed with a sincere smile, handshake, and, “Thank you for your business.”  My expectations were met, if not exceeded.

At every step, these fine people were informative, respectful, honest, prompt, efficient, and professional.  I would be surprised to hear from other customers that they were anything different.  Compared to the four or five other HVAC companies with whom I’ve interacted, Texas A/C Specialist wins my future business, hands down, without a second thought.  On top of that, if I can persuade someone to call on their services, then I will.

I called them the minute our A/C unit stopped cooling the house. Within 15 minutes a repair guy was at the door and immediately started working on the problem. Within 15 minutes it was working again after replacing a capacitor and some minor parts. So in less than one hour after the A/C unit quit working everything was fixed and the price was extremely reasonable. This is the best service experience I have ever had. They deserve an A++++

I finally found an AC/Heating company that I fully trust!  Today a technician named Pete came to my house to do a complete maintenance/service on the two units in my home.  There was a problem with sediment in one of the lines and he worked tirelessly (and cheerfully!)  for 1 1/2 hours in the attic to clear the line out.  He took pictures on his phone to show me the ‘before and afters’, then even cleaned up the sediment that had blown out of the pipe onto the attic floor, leaving the workspace completely clean. I’m a fan!

Texas Air Conditioning Specialist are outstanding. We’ve called them for two different problems in the last year and a half and have been very happy with their professionalism, friendliness, speed and expertise. Our AC went out a couple weeks ago, in the midst of yet another 100+ degree stretch of days, and of course it happened on a Saturday morning. TACS sent a tech out within a couple of hours to determine the problem. The system had frozen up, but Raul, the tech came back six hours later, after it had thawed to continue the free estimate. While we had to wait on a part from Lennox, which didn’t exist anywhere in the state of Texas (I give Lennox two stars at best), TACS provided excellent service and steady communication throughout. Raul was knowledgable and did a great job explaining the issues to me, unlike many technicians at other companies who obviously don’t want to take the time. He also noticed that we have an infant and provided several tips to help us keep as cool as possible while we waited for the part. While AC work is inevitably more expensive than I expect it to be, the estimates TACS quoted me were fair and we were not hit with any hidden charges.

Texas AC Specialist has fixed the AC in my older rental house on several occasions. They are quick, I believe the prices are fair, and they stand by their work.  They warrantied a faulty part –with no labor or call charge, and recently replaced the coil. Then, when the ac quit working suddenly this weekend — they did a quick drop by and were able to quickly diagnose the issue — and they didn’t charge me a dime. The technicians have always been very polite and professional. They are my go-to ac repair

After a string of negative experiences with other AC companies, we contacted Texas AC Specialist regarding repair or replacement of our HVAC system. We had just purchased a home and noticed that the unit did not effectively cool our upstairs and seemed to struggle to keep even the first floor at a comfortable temperature. We knew that previous tenants did not routinely clean the system, so we were interested in having the current unit repaired or possibly investing in a new unit. Domingo met us at our property for our initial appointment and estimate. He was punctual, friendly, and helpful. He spent a good deal of time looking at our current (but ancient) system and discussing options with us, including relocating a new unit to the attic to create more space on our first floor. He was very upfront about the potential cost of relocating the unit, including ancillary costs from electricians or plumbers. He took all of our questions and concerns seriously and seemed to be genuinely invested in selling us the right product, installed in a way that would be most efficient based on the age and structure of our home. Following Domingo’s visit, we had several conversations with another employee, Brian, about complexities of installing the unit, a dual zone system, etc. He was helpful and honest with us about potential problems with the ductwork in our home and let us know that the installers would carefully evaluate our system and space before beginning the install. We applied for financing through AC Credit (highly recommended if you’re considering a new, energy efficient but pricey HVAC system) and scheduled the installation. Although the crew was slightly delayed the morning of the install, we appreciated the time they took to carefully evaluate what would work in our home (i.e., dual zone, etc). Eddie and his assistant walked throughout the house and inspected various aspects of the ductwork and space and then provided us with all the information so that we could make an informed decision about how to install the unit. When they realized we did not have ample space for a dual zone system, they contacted Domingo directly to work out an alternative solution, which we very much appreciated. Their service manager also stopped by to check on the progress and quality of our install. Once we decided on the best solution for our home, Eddie and his assistant worked late into the night to complete the installation. A service person came by the following day to check on the new install. We’ve had our new system for one week and so far, it’s great. Given the hot summer weather, we’re impressed with how efficient the system seems to be. In addition to our new unit, we have learned a good deal about our home and how to take care of our new HVAC, quirky aspects of our vents/ducts that we can remedy, ways to improve energy efficiency, etc. We highly recommend Texas AC Specialist (Domingo, Eddie, and Brian in particular) to anyone looking for professional, tailored, and efficient HVAC installation.

AMAZING Experience with The folks at Texas Air Conditioning Specialist From Maria, to Brian, to Chino to Pete – 5 stars all around!!! Our AC went out twice this summer, the gang at Texas Air Conditioning Specialists showed up the SAME day both times and had it repaired the same day they got the parts, all real cool folks, cant’ speak highly enough of them.

Domingo cleaned out all the fire ants inside the condenser wiring & totally saved the day!
Domingo arrived ahead of schedule which was great.  Got here at 4 even though I’d expected between 5 and 7pm.  And when your AC is out on July 3 and it’s 98 degrees and climbing, a few hours makes a big difference. I quickly ran him through the troubleshooting I had done (changed filter, changed thermostat batteries, checked breakers). He smartly decided to check out the condenser (not working) first before facing the attic.  Good choice because I’m sure the attic was 110 degrees. We walked out to the condenser, he lifted off the covering over the instrument panel/wiring — and immediately he knew what it was.  Fire ants.  Lots of em.  He showed me how the dead fire ants had built up enough to disable the connection.  After 5 minutes of brushing and scraping — and with a handful of garden bug bait that I found — he got my air conditioning running. And he didn’t charge me. What an angel!  Truthfully, I had been in a pretty good panic in reading Angie’s list reviews and seeing the thousands of dollars in repairs that often appear. I am so truly grateful. The service was prompt, professional, friendly, informative (I learned A LOT) and no charge. Since the Texas Air Conditioning Specialists have helped us out of a hot mess twice now, I decided it was time to give them the review that they deserve.  Folks, try this place out if you’re having AC issues.  They are fast, they’re professional, and they don’t push things on you that you don’t need.  Pete was our last technician from them, and he was outstanding.  I just can’t recommend them enough.

I called several companies to get a quote for an acid wash of the condensor coils in my AC unit.  Another company had told me that I needed to have the acid wash done.  Texas AC told me that I don’t need it done and can just clean the unit with a water hose.  I was really impressed with the honesty of the advice.  And it saved me over $100!

First, let me say that I only contacted highly rated Angie’s List AC/Heating providers to receive bids.  After completing this process, it was obvious to me that the best choice was Texas AC Specialist.  Here’s why: 1) they did not try to “oversell” what I needed (there were additional items that I would have liked to include such as more insulation but it was not in my budget since this was an unplanned expense.) Also, unlike another highly-rated Angie’s List company, they inspected my duck work and told me that it did not need to be replaced; 2) they gave me three brand choices (Carrier, Trane and Lennox) and helped me understand the differences and costs among the different brands; 3) They offered a 10 year labor warranty for an additional cost that was less than the price of one other bid; 4) They completed the installation in a very efficient manner 2 days after they gave me the bid which was great since my system was still working but I wanted the work done before summer hit; 5) Since I have never had to have a system replaced, I had a ton of initial and followup questions.  They were very patient with me and answered them all; 6) They are available 24/7 and due to my fault…not theirs…they had to return twice after the installation and were very customer-service oriented. 7) From start to finish, their availability and customer service from all the staff I spoke/worked with were professional, helpful, respectful and knowledgeable; and lastly, 8) they simply did excellent installation work so that I feel confident there won’t be any “surprises” down the road!

One of my AC units stopped cooling during the first week of Austin summer heat.  TACS sent a Technician to my house at 11:00 AM on a Friday.  After he looked into it and found it was leaking, we decided to go ahead and replace all 3 of our units since two of them were leaking and pretty old.  They sent out an installation team that same Friday afternoon and the guys worked until after 9PM to replace the system which cools our Master Bedroom so we would have AC for sleeping comfortably.  The next day they sent out 3 installation crews and they completely replaced the other 2 units working all day Saturday.  Everyone we met at TACS was very friendly and professional and they did an amazing job, including cleaning up the mess from removing the old systems. These days when it is really tough to find companies which know how to do good customer service, I was completely blown away by the customer service of TACS.  I ended up recommending TACS to 3 other friends who had to replace AC units and all of them had similar positive experiences.

AC went out on Father’s Day and a friend told us about this company. They were at our house within an hour to do the assessment and didn’t charge additonal fees because it was Sunday and a Holiday! Wow! Within 24 hours we had an entire new system installed. They called to see if they could come earlier, showed up exactly on time and were very efficient. I would highly recommend using this AC company!

This is one of the most professional organizations in the business. I called after 7 PM ON A FRIDAY and received prompt, reliable service. I was bracing myself for a HUGE REPAIR BILL! To my surprise it was a minor fix and the technitian had the unit working in less than one hour. I love GREAT service and TX AC Specialists are the best!

I requested a service call (which they provide at no cost) due to cooling system issues.  My unit wasn’t completely offline, but would not reach the thermostat set point.  Their technician arrived on time, the very next morning from my call.  He found my system had a freon leak, and detected it was in my evaporator coils inside of the air handler in the attic.  He quoted me about $1500 for the repair, which included replacing the coils and then recharging the system.  I found their quote to be competitive and proceeded with the work. The repair was completed the same day, professionally and promptly – as I have come to expect from this company.   This is my second repair with them, having replaced my outdoor condensing unit two summers ago due to a failed compressor.  At that time they were again extremely competitive, leaving me to be a returning and long time customer.
Excellent.   The repair was completed promptly and without issue.   I would highly recommend this provider to anyone seeking an excellent air conditioning installation and/or repair.   Courteous, trustworthy, competitive, and confident, doing great work and leaving my system in perfect condition

Today, Chino with Texas AC came out to do a service call on my AC because it wasn’t cooling efficiently. In all of the years of dealing with various technicians, he was the most thorough and used excellent communication skills to explain the situation. His customer service was outstanding.  I’ve been pleased with Texas AC since I bought my unit, but today I realized again this company values it’s customers.

My experience with Texas Air Conditioning Specialist has been very positive.  Saul, the technician came out during the stated window of time and quickly determined that the circuit breaker had been tripped and as a result, no electricity was getting to the outside unit.  That was an easy fix and then he did a little more checking ( pressure checks, etc )  The invoice total was : no charge .  When I made the appointment the day before, I was told that might be the case, if the fix needed was small, there would be no service charge for coming out and no charge if they could fix the problem easily. They were true to their word. Thank you, Texas AC Specialist. E Wong

Amazing! Fantastic! Wonderful! I called TX AC Specialists around 10 this morning. Spoke to a very nice and helpful man who took my information and told me a tech would be there between 11 and noon. He had me explain the issue so that he could inform the tech so he would be aware before he arrived. The technician, Domingo, arrived at10:32. Very polite and nice and extremely informative. He listened to me, tested multiple things. Looked at both the inside and outside units. After determining it was the circuit board, he had me come over and watch how he came to that conclusion so that I understood. He estimated a new board between 5 and 6 hundred dollars and told me he would make some calls to see if he could get one today. Domingo came back 15 minutes later, told me he had found the part and already had a guy on his way to pick it up and then head to my house. He had an invoice written out and his estimate was on the money. With parts and labor the bill was $585. He gave me a receipt and his card for anything else I might need. By one o’clock another technician, Justin, had arrived, installed the board and left with my house already cooling down! In three hours this company received my call, determined the problem, found the part, quoted me a near exact estimate and resolved my AC issues! ON A SATURDAY BEFORE MEMORIAL DAY!!! I can’t say enough how wonderful these guys were. Best service experience EVER!

I have to write and say how impressed I am with the service I recieved today! I have rarely experienced such quick, professional service from a company. Special thanks to Rachel, who answered the phone and responded promptly to my distress call, even calling back to make sure I had the right information written down. Next was Thomas, the techinican, who was kind and also very fast – had the problem diagnosed and part installed in mere minutes! I can’t say what a relief it is as a young family trying to make ends meet – NOT to have to pay $90 just for a service call. Thank You for treating folks as you would want your grandmother to be treated. My family ran a service-oriented business in Louisiana while I was growing up, and y’all definitely have an organization to be proud of. I appreciate that kind of honorable way of doing business. Replaced and insulated A/C drainage lines (PVC pipe) in attic that had been chewed through by rats.

The entire experience was simple and easy.  I called Wednesday afternoon and they sent a technician (Alfredo) out Thursday morning to look at the pipes and give an estimate.  The next morning, the same clean-cut, uniformed tech arrived to do the job.  He finished in less than two hours and cleaned up all the insulation and drainage that spilled from the attic and the pipes.  The cost was very reasonable and they had a coupon on Angie’s List that provided a 10% discount, so I was very pleased.  I will definitely call Texas A/C Specialists again.

On that Sunday night we noticed that our upstairs A/C was not working – it’s only 2 years old!  I went to Angie’s List that night and contacted a couple of A listings by email.  Texas Air contacted me early on Monday, came out that day, diagnosed the problem, and scheduled repair for Tuesday!  We couldn’t believe it.  They were great guys, friendly and eager workers, handling everything promptly including finding the part.
We had been worried since losing our service man to illness, but now we feel like we have a go-to company.  Wonderful experience!  Thank you very much.

They were great.  They fit me in the next day which was nice.  They came out and gave the options and offered to install a new one, not a unit that is in the house, an outdoor unit and quoted me a price.  I called around and checked the prices and did not find any one cheaper.  They sent in someone that afternoon to install it.  So from the time I called to that afternoon I had air-conditioning running.  It is summer time in Texas.  It seems to gets warmer every year.  I am usually picky and I honestly did take a few hours in between when they were here, to call and schedule them for a later time to put it in actually.  I called and price checked at a few places and could not find anyone to do it cheaper even when I compared the sizes etc.  I will use them in the future.

I called these guys when my A/C went out and they were able to get it up and running in a timely manner.  There was a billing mistake made by the technician that resulted in my being overcharged, but when I contacted the owner (Mark), he apologized and rectified the issue very, very quickly.  He and his service manager even sent several emails to me on a Sunday night to let me know they were working on the issue (I had emailed them on Sunday evening).To further ease my concerns, Mark showed me his actual pricing list to confirm what I should have been charged.  He then refunded the amount that went over the set price.In my interactions with Mark, he came across as a very honest person that sincerely wanted to fix the situation.  And it sounds like the technician made an honest mistake.   Based on how quickly Mark addressed my issue, I would definitely use them again in the future.

We contacted Texas Air Conditioning Specialist 1.5 years ago when our air conditioner began draining from the secondary drain, which was down the back of our house.  A repairman came out promptly, was pleasant, and reasonably priced.  He quickly solved the problem. When the secondary drain began dripping this past week, I called Texas Air Conditioning Specialist and placed a service request.  We quickly received a return call, and a repairman came to our house at a time convenient for us.  We were able to explain the nature of the problem, and the repairman fixed it in a matter of minutes.  The best part was that he did not charge us for his work.  The next best part is that he told us how to solve the problem ourselves in the future.We will use this company in the future should a need arise, and the company definitely has our recommendation.

My husband requested a call back online for a possible quote. They called quickly and assessed our AC. We called back approving the job, but unfortunately the gentleman who came for the assessment ordered a unit that would not fit. When they came to install, it was during a thunderstorm and they had to come back the next weekend anyway. They said the new system was more expensive, but they gave us the original estimated price. Overall, they did a good job and we felt the charge was reasonable. I like to keep business local when I can, so we were definitely pleased.

I have used Texas AC Specialist for the last 2-3 years. They are very honest and don’t jerk you around with service call fees. I have had them out multiple times for a variety of issues and have been extremely pleased with their service and reliability. Out of 4 times that I had them out, I was only actually charged something twice. They are honest fellas, and made me feel like I was dealing with a family member. I wouldn;t hesitate to use him again!

Just when it got REALLY cold a board in my heat exchanger flamed out.  Pete (service guy) came out to troubleshoot and gave me a few service options that would help save me money.  It was after hours and would have cost a bit more so I opted to wait until morning.  Since he was honest, and didn’t try to push a sale, I asked him when he came back in the morning about an upgrade of the entire AC/Heat system (usually their supposed to try to push that on me, aren’t they? :) ).  We held off on the repair and talked about options. I told Pete I wanted a more energy efficient system and he started by offering me a 14 seer system, which would have been sufficient AND efficient for my house.  Again, he was just being honest and I felt like he wanted to save me money and not gouge me! Long and short – I asked for the more efficient (16 seer) system and he worked out a good price.  I imagine it’s because this time of year is a little slower for AC installs. Within an hour I had a crew of guys at my house along with Brent – the service manager – who stopped by to introduce himself to me.  I like that kind of service!  Great crew, Great service (and FAST install).

We will never use another AC service!  We went through two other companies that charged everytime they came out and weren’t nearly as professional and help ful as these guys. They come on time, they really don’t charge you for a service call (no gimmicks), and whatever work they do is explained and fair priced.  Recently we had Pete come out to take a look at our air handler and he spent the time to explain to me what he was doing, why each part worked the way it did and was able to fix the problem in no time.  He was very professional and was even friendly with my two year old who was watching him work. If you are searching for a quality AC service, go with these guys. They won’t show up in some busted down van with a guy that looks like a hobo. Professional and fair all the way.

We had a problem with our heater.  This was our second call to them and both repair men have been awesome.  Both explain everything they are doing and professional. We had just bought our house and the first repair man found that their was still a warranty on the a/c unit and it cut the bill to just pay for labor and our second repair for the heater was a stupid mistake on our part and Pete the repair man charged us zero dollars for this repair.  There are good people still left in this world.  Thank you Pete.  We will always use this company for our repairs, but hopefully we are done for awhile, lol.

Wow. TACS tech was here 15 minutes after I called. He inspected the furnace and asked me questions, visited the breaker box, and disconnected what he guessed was a faulty switch. (Said I didn’t need it; the unit is old.) No trouble since — and the heat used to go off nightly — and the best of all… free service call. Friendly, fast, knowledgeable, good businesspeople. You can’t go wrong.

WOW!! These guys are truly awesome, and highly recommend their company and service. The heating unit went out Christmas Eve, and although I tried to troubleshoot it myself, it was beyond my ability to resolve without help. I waited until after the holiday and looked here for who to pick. Their reviews convinced me, and their no hassle free service call policy cinched it. Called to schedule, and they were able to get someone out in a matter of hours. Pete actually called and showed up even before the estimated time window. He was very considerate, and spent the necessary time to adequately troubleshoot and diagnose the problem. It was a simple sensor that wasn’t actually necessary anyway, so he saved us any parts and labor that it would have cost to replace it. Even went so far as to double check the safeguards on the furnace and damper as well. I’m definitely going to have them back out in spring to give our A/C a checkup. I would trust these guys, as they have proven their integrity and honesty.

Before the holiday season began one of our heating units stopped working. We called another company to come out and take a look at the problem. After spendining several hundred dollars on what we thought were new parts the unit worked for maybe a total of 5 days. I had my suspisions with this company but wanted to give a local company our business. My husband and I decided that we did not want to use them again so I searched online and decided to give TACS a call. As all the other reviews have mentioned they were quick to respond to my call and sent Brent out to take a look at our unit. Brent was very knowledge and friendly. He also infomed us that the parts we thought we had purchased just 3 weeks earlier were not new parts. It feels good to know that there are honest people out there that won’t take you for your money. I would highly recommend calling TACS for any of your HVAC needs.

I received a $630 quote by another company to fix the draft inducer blower on my furnace, and I went online and found that the replacement part is only $115 delivered. I called Texas Air Conditioning Specialists about 2PM and they sent out Eric a little over an hour later. When he pulled apart the existing part to put in the one I ordered online, he found a chunk of something stuck in there – once it was removed, the furnace worked fine. Eric was great to work with AND I was not charged for the visit! $630 compared to FREE is a substantial difference!

They sent over a technician, Pete Peterson, and not only was he a quick and very efficient worker (the house is finally at a comfortable temperature!), but he was extremely friendly and made sure to keep us informed about exactly what was wrong, what needed to be done, and how long it would take.   • 7/28/2011Best Air Conditioning Company in Austin.  Period.  I sent an email request for service at 9pm last night when my AC went down.  They returned my email within 20 mins stating that they could have someone out the next day at whatever time suited me.  I told them 8 am would be great.  This morning,  Eddie, the Service Technician (AKA “The Man”), promptly showed up, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed before I finished my second cup of coffee.  As it was our first call to TACS and there were no parts to replace, the call was free.  As the General Manager of a busy restaurant where I spend much of my time dealing with contractors and repairmen, I must say that this was an extraordinary experience.  Undoubtedly, I will need future work done on my AC unit because of it’s age.  Because of this great experience, I have no doubt which company I will call – Texas Air Conditioning Specialist.  I strongly recommend this company.  Eddie, if you’re reading this, THANK YOU!!!

The following morning, a monday, we started calling all the top-reviewed AC specialists on Angie’s List and pretty much got either a recording or a live person telling us they were booked for the day. Texas AC Specialist was one of the few companies with a live person answering the phone, and they were the first ones able to visit right away. As we suspected, it didn’t make financial sense to fix the unit, so we opted to replace the entire thing. Fortunately Texas AC was able to send their guys over the very next morning (this morning) and do the installation. We felt like they gave us a fair price (they easily could have gouged us, given our desperate need for AC during this insanely hot summer). Juan and his partner did a fantastic job, were super professional and courteous, and worked a long, hot day getting the new system installed–including several hours working in our attic, where it was easily over 100 degrees. They didn’t leave until they were sure we were online and getting cool air. Juan walked me through using the new thermostat, and they thoroughly cleaned up, removing the old system and all the detritus that went with it. I cannot recommend Texas AC Specialist highly enough. Especially Juan and his partner. They really came through in a pinch for us and we could not be more pleased.

Water, water, everywhere.  Who ya gonna call?  Texas AC Specialist! My condensation pump on my AC unit went out.  I had water on the floor in my house and my AC wouldn’t run at all.  And of course, that had to happen during the hottest week in Austin history in forever.  I called at 9:30AM and they could have someone at my house by 11AM!  Who does that any more? Don arrived and immediately assessed the problem.  I needed a new pump.  The quote wasn’t outrageous, but I’d gotten laid off two days before, so he got the quote lowered for me AND they let me use the 10% off coupon. When he came back with the pump, we talked while he installed.  He was very personable, professional, and courteous.  He told me that he really likes working for Texas AC and that they take care of their employees. I believe a happy employee makes for a much better employee, hence all the great reviews on Yelp.  I’m not sure who’s in charge at Texas AC, but great job.  Whatever kind of environment you create for your employees flows down to the excellent service they provide. And kudos to Ashley, who I spoke to on the phone a couple of times.  She was so kind and cheerful, and her voice was filled with such sunshine that it helped brighten my spirits in spite of all the crap I’d been hit with this week. Now my house is cool again, and I’m writing this review on Yelp in the hope that others will call Texas AC and have an experience as good as mine.  I don’t think you’ll regret it.  (And don’t forget to mention Yelp for the $65 free service call.)

We were very happy with our service. We live in Round Rock and woke up to AC not working.  Called TACS at 6-630 am hoping to get fixed quickly becuase we have twin 7 month olds and record temps outside. We received a call back by the on call tech with 30 minutes or so and they had someone to the house by 8-830am. Eddie came over.  My husband was very impressed with him – thought he was a good guy.  Ended up needing new capacitor.  Eddie had fixed and was out the door by 9am and only cost us about $200. Can’t complain about that kindof service when it’s going to be over 100 again today. Will defnitely call again if we ever need anything.

We had 5 or 6 companies come out to give an estimate to replace our A/C unit in our condo.  Domingo at Texas AC Specialists was great.  He was super professional and honest.  We had a 2 ton system installed, but after a day or so we found it wasnt properly cooling our room.  I was expecting a long drawn out process to fix this problem.  Brian had someone out there the next morning to asses the problem.  Ray came out and gave some great advice and expertise.  Since the unit was still not cooling, Larry came out and really worked hard to solve our problem.  He was not afraid to climb up into the super hot attic and investigate.  Larry went above and beyond to help make sure we got the highest level of service.  We all decided it was best to get a larger 3 ton unit.  Again, Brian had a crew out the next day to install our new unit. Eddie, the guy who installed our unit was extremely professional.  He and his crew worked long hours in the hot sun two days to make sure our unit was working properly.  He was a nice guy and you could tell he really cared about doing the job right. Every segment of this organization is top notch.  They made an otherwise stressful situation simple.  We appreciate you guys!  Thanks!

I was very impressed and lucky to find such an excellent company. Our AC “went out with a bang”, literally, and a couple of shakes. Texas weather (102), 4 yr old at home and me only having a couple hrs of sleep was very desperate and ran across this company via google. Read many great review and was excited there was no fee to come out and look at the AC. Very friendly receptionist was able to schedule me w/in the next couple hrs. Service Tech Thomas responded, diagnosed the problem and was very kind to even apologize when telling me what the problem was w/my AC, all w/in 15 min’s. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to afford the cost to fix it, however Thomas never pressured me into using their company and even advised me he’d hold the part for a day if I decided to call them to fix it. Even though I didn’t use Texas AC Specialist for the repair I still feel very grateful to them. It was very reassuring to know what the problem was, and at no charge!

I’m so happy to get to share my experience of the great service from Texas A/C Specialist. Late Thursday night last week, we discovered water dripping from our A/C through the ceiling into our bottom floor. My husband figured out the source and we took temporary measures to deal with it. In the morning, I called our usual service company but they couldn’t come out the same day so I found TAS online. They sent Eddie out the same day. He was extremely polite and personable. He quickly diagnosed the problem and said it would only take about 10 minutes. Well, he blew out the pipe that drains out the evaporation overflow, plus told me to put a cup of bleach into it every couple of months to prevent the same problem from happening again. He also changed the filters and showed me how to do the same maintenance on the downstairs A/C unit. He also told me about a device we could install that would automatically turn off the A/C if the water got close to overflowing again. The kicker was that when I asked how much I owed, he told me, “nothing!” I couldn’t believe it and asked him again and he said, “We’re not just about making money. We really like to help people. You could write a review for us.” I told him I would, of course! And here it is. Thank you, Texas A/C Specialist. I called up Texas Air Conditioning Specialists this morning, a Saturday, not exactly expecting that someone would be able to get out to help me until Monday. Gave a rundown of my situation and to my surprise they were able to work around my schedule the very same day to get out and help me. The specialist arrived on time, diagnosed the issue extremely quickly, answered all of my silly questions about what he was doing and what was wrong, and was out the door with my AC repaired in less than 20 minutes. My only regret was that I didn’t get his phone number, he was pretty cute. The person who spoke with was very understanding and promised to dispatch a tech and that he would contact me between a certain 1 hour time frame. Eddie arrived within the specified time frame and was extremely polite and proceeded to work on the outside unit. He was thorough, answered all of my questions, and took the time to explain to me what he was doing. He even gave me a few hints as to some preventative maintenance that I could do myself. All in all I am highly satisfied with the service I received and am now very cool (well, temperature wise that is). It took me years to find a HVAC service I trust… and these guys are the real deal. I had to have an entire unit replaced last summer.  These guys offered a competitive price with unparalleled service.  A year later, I did have one minor problem where some of the tape they used melting in the Texas heat, resulting in hot attic air leaking into the ducts.  They came out and fixed it free of charge (arriving early and doing the work for free). The summer before, I had my 2nd AC replaced by a different company.  The work they did, along with the service before/during/following, was completely inferior and actually more expensive than Texas AC specialists. Last Wednesday we were hot and unhappy.
You sent us Domingo to talk us through all of our needs.
Because of that conversation and the word of a friend (Jason Merlo) about the quality of work done
by Brent we went ahead with the upgrade.
Leo and Eddie worked at our house from around 10AM to 11:30PM Friday. I should be lucky enough
to work with people with their work ethic and quality of work. Heads down serious work for 13.5 hours.
These are two very competent guys and I thoroughly appreciate their attitude and commitment.
After talking with Brian about the 2 small issues remaining this AM, Robert and Javier arrived this afternoon
and finished exactly as described and expected.

Woke up on a Sunday morning to a cold house – no heat. yikes! After reading the reviews here on Yelp, I called Texas AC Specialist. I got a call back from a tech within 15 minutes, and he said he would be there in just over an hour. Brent showed up an hour later. Took a look at my furnace, determined it was a bad ignitor. He had a replacement part in his truck, and within 15 minutes we had heat again. Sweet! He didn’t charge me additional for a weekend service call. Nice. All in all – quick, friendly service. Got the job done quickly, and didn’t try to upsell me or charge me for additional services or parts. And on a Sunday even. This was our first experience with Texas AC, but we’ll be keeping their number in our list of recommended contractors.     five stars

It only figures that on one of the four days that Austin dips below freezing, our gas furnace went out. Isn’t that always the way?  But wait, it gets better!  It goes out right before a weekend, thus ensuring two long days in which we emerged from our heated blankets only for such necessities as brushing our teeth and the like. We needed heat, toute suite. First, we called one of the bigger local shops.  You know — one of the ones whose vans you see all over the city?  They came out, did some poking around on our old unit, and told us pretty unequivocally that we needed an entire new HVAC system which they would be all too happy to sell us for the low, low price of $6,000.00. After we regained consciousness, we (at the suggestion of my oh-so-level headed girlfriend) called TACS.  They’re right up the road, they’re small, they had a great Yelp rating. The technician Brent came out that very day, did his own poking around, and found that our heater’s malady was nothing more than a frayed bit of rubber hose connected to the blower.  He trimmed the frayed part off the end, and didn’t even charge us for the call.  The heater works just fine! Of course when it is 17 degrees out our thermostat went out so we woke up to a 57 degree house – the baby’s diaper has yellow ice cubes in it. So I called up Tex Air Cond Service and they said they’s make it out between 2-4pm, being pretty busy today. At 3pm I got a call that Brent was on his way and 3:15 he was at the door.  Fortunately the wierd problem with the thermostat went off just as he was looking at it (after working for the previous 3 hours).  He took one look, used a little sandpaper on the batter terminal pads and said “I think that will do it, but if it gives you any more problem give me a call.” I asked home much and he said no charge. NO CHARGE.  Have to love that.  I mean sure he was in and out in under 5 minutes, but you have to love him not sticking me with a fee. He took me through some diagnostic steps, and, upon determining that parts would be needed, set me up for a service call on Monday when the parts suppliers were open). They are also great with service calls in that they don’t charge for them unless they actually do some work (something I’ve taken advantage of just once and felt bad when it turned out my lines were just rattling against a light box in the attic… three zip ties and problem solved). I was given an ETA of someone being available between 12PM – 2PM which immediately impressed me. Your AC tech contacted me by 12:30 and was on site at my home before 1PM. The service ended up costing me nothing because it was simply something that I could fix. Your AC tech was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I should also add that whomever answers the phone and schedules the service calls did so very professionally and provides your company an excellent first impression. From past experience I’ve not been very impressed with other companies that I have worked with regarding my AC service. The phone service is generally not very good and the service techs often seem green and not particularly good at interfacing with customers. Tech was out within an hour. In the attic for @ 5 minutes and the heat went on. He said something ate through an outflow hose and it needed to be replaced. He said he would not charge for it since it was a simple fix for him. Glad for the courtesy call. Glad the heat is working. Not so happy about the cause of the problem. I wanted to take advantage of tax credit. Gave me a price on a Carrier Infinity System(top of the line). I had another company give me a quote on a Trane. But I needed a 5 ton system and Trane does not have a system that makes tax credit requirements in that size. Carrier did. And let me tell you this system is super nice, its quiet and the tstat is awesome. Now the system is pretty expensive. I had duct work and insulation done by them as well. But in the long run i will get my money back and plus my neighors are all jealous. So very happy. Thomas was very informative. He knew the ins and outs of everything from the vent pipe sizing the what size my reuturn grills should be to have the system work at peak performance. Call this company and you will not be dissappointed.     five stars Straightforward, able to communicate clearly by phone & email. I found Mark much preferable to the bigger companies.
